US Festival 2016

The annual US Kadampa Festival is an opportunity for people from around the country to gather together in the glorious environment of our beautiful World Peace Temple and share in the inspiration of profound and exquisite teachings. This chance to reconnect with friends from other parts of the country and to receive teachings that speak directly to our capacity for improving the lives of ourselves and others brings great meaning to our “spiritual vacation.”

The US Festival is inspired by the fully accomplished Buddhist meditation master and internationally renowned teacher, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. This year, join us as Gen-la Dekyong, the General Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition, will grant the empowerment of Buddha Shakyamuni. Gen-la will also give teachings on drawing inspiration from living Buddha.

Gen-la Dekyong, the General Spiritual Director of the NKT, is loved and respected throughout the world for the sincerity of her practice and the power of her wisdom and compassion. She has inspired thousands of people through her teachings and her example of a modern day Buddhist practitioner. She has been a student of Geshe Kelsang for thirty years, during which time she has inspired thousands of people around the world through her sincere reliance on her Spiritual Guide, taking his teachings to heart and putting them into practice in every aspect of her life. Before her appointment as General Spiritual Director she was the National Spiritual Director of the United States.
