International Kadampa Festivals are special courses held three times each year and are open to everyone. The Festivals include teachings and empowerments by the Spiritual Directors of the New Kadampa Tradition, reviews and meditations led by senior Teachers, chanted prayers and meditations and offering ceremonies, and retreats to consolidate and deepen your understanding and experience. Open to everyone, these International Festivals are a wonderful opportunity to meet with Buddhist practitioners from all over the world and share experience and understanding with them.
The US Festival is held at the beautiful Kadampa temple in rural New York state in the Spring. This festival includes an empowerment with teachings, chanted prayers and meditations as well as time for retreat.
There are also several three-day regional Dharma Celebrations offered throughout the United States. The Northeast Dharma Celebration, also held in New York, is usually offered sometime in Autumn and welcomes Kadampas from around the region for an empowerment, teachings, chanted prayers and meditations. The Mid-Atlantic Dharma Celebration is held in Spring at the Kadampa World Peace Temple in Baltimore.
